March Break: In the Spirit of Fun!
Life can be pretty stressful. Filled with To Do lists, errands, work schedules, child and partner schedules.... adulting is hard and quite frankly it's usually not very fun.
So with March Break around the corner for the kids, I've decided to challenge you to fill you March with oh so teeny breaks from adulting. That's right folks, in the spirit of fun, I'm setting out to challenge you all to a little reunion with your inner child! Below you will find one small challenge to complete each week, as well as some additional challenges just for bonus points throughout the month. During the month, I hope you will listen carefully for the voices of the children you use to be, laughing along with you, teasing you when you're not going big enough with your ideas or not being silly enough, try to tap into that unbridled carefree sense of fun.
So let's start off with some fun bonus point challenges that you can try to accomplish throughout the month.
Without further ado... your challenges!
March 1st- March 7th
In this day and age, most of us have phones, and a lot of us spend time sending texts and emails from them, but how many of us truly make use of the contact card options? That's right, this week is all about the fun we use to take in personalizing things! This week, I want you to take a photo that you feel captures your fun side, truly captures your inner child. Then, share it with your closest friends and family so they can set it as the display for your contact card in their phone. That way, whenever they receive a call or text from you, it's the funnest of the fun they'll have pop up on their phone. But, why stop there? Ask them to send you one in return! Mine makes it look like I'm trapped in my friends phone, I have some contacts that are up in trees for theirs, some are in silly superhero onesies, and one friend sent me a closeup on her eye as though to say "I'm watching you." So many options to choose from, and you have a whole week to figure out one that works for you. Have fun!
March 8th - March 14th
Remember when we were kids and we always had favourite movies, favourite shows, favourite games, and favourite songs that we got so excited about? Even now, I bet a few come to mind as an adult. There might even be some songs from your childhood that you can still remember word for work. In college, my friends and I use to burst into the theme song from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, I'm looking at you Hanna! This week, your challenge is not to remember the theme songs of the past, but rather to think up a theme for you. That's right folks, explore youtube, go through your old hardrives, I want you to stumble across a song that you would choose as your very own theme song! You've got a week!
March 15th - March 21st
This week is all about the laughs. Remember sharing knock knock jokes as a kid and thinking they were the funniest thing ever? Unfortunately, most of the jokes we told when we were young aren't really that funny to us anymore, but good gracious are there ever a lot of new ones out there for every kind of sense of humour! Your job this week is to sift through the many jokes out there to find the best. You can look some up online, call your friends and family to arms on Facebook, or even head over to your local library or book store to see what they might have. At the end of the week, share your top find with everyone and then challenge them to do the same. How much laughter can you fit into one week? Get laughing!
March 22nd - March 28th
March is nearly at an end, but let's not stop here. This weeks challenge is to find some memento that you feel reflects the funnest side of who you are, something that gives a little nod to your inner child. Something that reminds you to find little breaks from adulting in whatever way you can. Find yourself a reminder of this and incorporate it into your workplace or wherever you are at your adultiest and in need of the reminder. I'm not saying to turn your desk into a pasture of baubles and troll dolls like Garcia from Criminal minds (though sincere kudos to you if you do!), one item of meaning will suffice. It can be a photo in a funky frame, a colourful pencil holder, an action figure or troll doll, anything that will cause you to smile. Take this week to really put some consideration into this.
Well folks, I hope you have fun with these little challenges over the course of the next month. As always, I invite you to comment below with your experiences. You could even go a step further and upload photos to Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram! Don't forget to tag me if you do!
Cheers!

So let's start off with some fun bonus point challenges that you can try to accomplish throughout the month.
- Pull one harmless prank. Remember, this is meant to be light and fun. Let's not risk any injuries or sending anyone off to the mental ward.
- Do one thing that you use to love doing as a child. This can be a puzzle, a blanket fort, watching a Disney movie, playing with blocks or play-doh, anything!
- Write a story or draw a picture depicting an old imaginary friend you had, a favourite make believe game you played as a child, a dream you had or still have, anything. The importance is the memory behind it, you don't have to be a talented writer or an artist, stick figures are 100% acceptable for this challenge. Heck! You can even use wax crayons!
Got those bonus challenges written down somewhere? Any ideas springing to mind?
Good!
Without further ado... your challenges!
