Ten
Weeks of Writers Prep
Week
ten: It's Time!
You can’t edit what isn’t written,
and it is far better to have something you can change than nothing to
work with at all.
Time to get writing and see what
happens! Find out what writing schedule works best for you, some
people write better when they wake up early in the morning, some work
better at night, and some work better with a sporadic schedule. Just
as some people prefer to write in a public place with a cup of coffee
or hot cocoa, and others require silence and solitude. Everyone has a
different method and to each their own, as long as you are making the
time to sit down and get writing. Don’t worry about editing for
now, just get the story down on paper and worry about fixing it
later.
Still don't feel ready? Pssshhh. None
of us are truly are when we allow
ourselves to slow down and think about it, but hey, if you still need
a bit of time and a follow up kick in the writing keister, this weeks
challenge is to sign yourself up for NaNoWriMo!
Haven't
read my other posts and have no idea what NaNoWriMo is? It's National
Novel Writers Month. This challenge, while it began on a national
level, has quickly become an international call out to writer's
everywhere. What's the challenge? To write your novel of course!....
in a minimum of 50,000 words in just 30 days... but it's not that
scary, I promise!
It's a
challenge to motivate you, but you are accountable only to yourself.
Even if you don't manage to get your 50,000 words in, you still walk
away with more written that you otherwise would have. Plus, there's
the fun of meeting up with other writer's in your community to do fun
mini challenges with and help each other through with tips, tricks,
and write-ins. Oh, did I mention you can earn badges? Those are
always fun too! Commooooon, what have you got to lose? Check it out,
and sign up if you like, you have a week to mull it over! Click here to sign up for NaNoWriMo
Good luck, and I hope to see you at the
finish line!
Ten
Weeks of Challenges
Week
Ten: Your Turn!
“You must be the change you wish to
see in the world.”- Mahatma Gandhi.
Do you know what really
makes the world a better place? Everyone working together to make it
so. The truth is, I can issue as many challenges as I can type, but
at the end of the day, you have to realize your own desire to spread
a willingness to change the world we live in.
So
this week, your challenge is this: create your own challenges!
That's
right, get out there and influence the world around you by being the
change you want to see. Invite others to get on board, issue your own
challenges in person or on social media. Share your thoughts on
achievable goals to make the world a better place. As you've seen
over the past ten weeks, challenges don't have to be that difficult,
but they can have an impact.
Have
you ever watched the movie Pay It Forward? (If not, there's your
Rambler Recommendation! It's based on a true story and will most
certainly hit you in the feels.) All it takes is one person to get
the ball rolling. If you go out there, and inspire three other people
to be more aware of how they can make the world a better place, they
may very well go out there and influence three more people
themselves. Just like that, you've now got thirteen people on board,
and the numbers can keep growing.
We all
hold much more power than we realize, and through our actions, we can
enact change.
Go
forth, my dear Ramblers, and be the change you want to see in the
world! :)
*****
Hey
Ramblers! Whether you are a writer or not, I hope you enjoyed these
past ten weeks of challenges. This world can feel like nothing but
hurtles and road blocks preventing us from reaching our goals and
attaining our peace, but it doesn't have to be that way. When we
allow ourselves to rely on one another, we lighten the weight we
carry on our shoulders. When we take the time to inspire one another,
we make all of our lives that much better.
You
hold power within you, use it to get out there and inspire.
Cheers!
