Poem to the Warriors

Someone somewhere cares for you, more than you could know
but the demons inside your head keep telling you to go.
To run from all their gazes and go far far away,
to simply go and hide yourself, and hang your head in shame,

Telling you to just give in, it's too hard to let the feelings show.
But you are stronger than you think and braver than you know.
You've faced so much already, in such a short lived life,
you've seen the many faces of people and their strife.

You've helped so very many, and given them oh so much,
now it's time to let them in, to feel their friendships touch.
The road ahead will not be easy, and yes it can be scary,
but worth it it will truly be, to put an end to being weary.

Weary of the shame and doubt the demons shout inside,
weary of the all the times they told you to just go run and hide.
It's time to put the night to rest, and raise your head up high,
to tilt your head towards the sun, and finally feel it shine.

For you are worth so much more than you have told yourself,
so face your demons, fight them back, put that past upon a shelf.
Remind yourself that you are strong and try to move your feet,
those demons hidden in your past, can finally be beat.

Like a phoenix, you will rise with your wings spread wide,
finally the moments passed to simply run and hide.
Risen from the ashes of your past, your demons finally slain,
With peace within your heart, go forth and seize the day.

    Thank you for this. It has touched my heart and spoke the words that I forget to tell myself when spinning around in fear and confusion. Reading your blog brings a smile to my face and a warmth to my heart. Knowing the face behind the words is such a gift for I can imagine you writing and in deep thought. So glad to be able to stay connected and continue to learn and grow using your wisdom as a guide. Thank you a million times!

      Yes, you are correct! I like that idea, "From the South." I've always considered it the Mid-West but I am over 2,500km South west from you, so it fits. I am home and searching for my next adventure... If you get an inclination to travel South to Colorado you will have to let me know! For now, I will look forward to more of your shared wisdom. A Bra Among Bros

So if you’re like me, you probably tend to hang around guys more than you do girls.  Contrary to what other girls may think, this has nothing to do with being promiscuous or trying to pick up. Alright, for some of you it might be, and in such cases have fun.  Honestly who am I to judge, it’s your body and your decision to do with it as you please.  This is the twenty first century and the double standard of guys being labeled heroes while girls are being labeled as sluts is a concept that really does need to be fed to a pool of starving piranhas. Destroy the mindset.  Everyone is human, everyone has needs, and if everyone involved is of age and it isn’t hurting anyone… why should it be anyone else’s business? Recharging Your Social

If you're an introvert, you know what it's like to be peopled-out. While I am one of those few people who is evenly distributed between being an introvert and an extrovert, I often find that working in public service results in a higher need for me to set hanging out with friends aside in order to recharge my social batteries. Extroverts sometimes have difficulty understanding this need as they try to present the fact that they are low maintenance/really easy going, or just want to do something relaxing together. In their mind, watching a movie with them is no different than watching a movie alone as there would be little communication going on anyway.
