Grow a Spine and Go!

First off, I would like to apologize to my Bros and Bras for the delay of this post. Unfortunately, my hands and wrists were sore due to medical reasons and postponing any typing was a decision I had to make in exchange for some much needed rest.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am one of those people who, regrettably, avoids doctors and other medical professionals with a level of stubbornness that might rival that of a donkey's. It is not because I do not like them as individuals or that I do not stand behind science, merely a holdover from spending way too much time around hospitals as a child due to cancer in the family and partially due to my own experiences being poked, prodded, and tested.

However, there are times when one has to don their big girl attitude, suck it up, and book an appointment anyway.

Thankfully, holdovers or not, I do have some medical professionals in my life that make this decision to suck it up and go, that much easier. I would like to stress to anyone with a similar aversion to mine that it is important to remain open minded long enough to find someone you are comfortable with and trust. I was very fortunate to find a nurse practitioner and chiropractor early in life, that I was comfortable with and felt I could rely on. These individuals are aware and understanding of how I am in this matter and know that when I show up to see them there is a good reason for it. They listen, and they are quick to help me figure out a course of action that works for me.

If ever Patricia or Todd should happen to stumble across this, big shout out to both of you. You are both amazing and it is evident in all that you do that the well being of your patients are of the utmost importance to you.

This week, I have started going to see my chiropractor Todd again. He is someone I have eagerly referred many friends to and someone who has proven time and time again that chiropractic care is highly underestimated, and undervalued. It is astounding just how many things a chiropractor is capable of correcting if given the chance (i.e. heartburn, carpal tunnel, migraines, etc).

Now, I could go into detail about what has inspired this post and the importance of going to see a chiropractor but this time I thought I might instead do a little shameless, unsolicited, advertising. I invite you all to head over to the blog of some friends of mine, fellow ramblers if you will, and see their post regarding their own experiences involving chiropractic care: Double E's Hobbit Hole.  I would then invite you all to look into what else chiropractors can do for you either by doing a little research or by setting up a consultation with a clinic near you.

Healthy living to you and yours, cheers!
